awwwww, all over already. One of the best animes ever I’d have to say! Atleast definatly in my top 3. I don’t know about the ending though, i mean we know light is dead and done but it seemed abit anti-climatic when it came to misa, the girl. They could totally continue that somehow. And oh yeah, was it just me or wasn’t there a third death note cause of ema (i think that was the F. shinigami’s name) best freind dying to save misa and then ema giving her the spare death note.

PS didn’t like N, but L was cool.

amazing series, i know what everyone means about misa wouldnt they want the 2nd kira? i liked L, Near and Mello but i dont see why everyone hates light just because he killed L he was a pretty cool character

well in the end the bad guy one. Neither Kira or N were truly good. Kira killed innocent people and forced people to be good,but he killed mostly criminals and N wanted to catch Kira who was eliminating all the evil.

Great anime. Loved it, really. But the ending was just anti-climactic. I mean come on, he just dies just like that? Nah, at least Near should have died or something so that nobody wins. I think that in the end Ryuuk should have given Misa the other death note and she would become Kira. I also like the idea of the death eraser or maybe they could make a sequel where Light is a shinigami and gives a death note to a human. I don’t know. I just thought the ending could have been LOTS better.

Mello becomes such a hero. That was unexpected.

I wouldn’t call it the best anime by a long shot. It is nothing new or shocking — the criminal dies in the end and justice is done. The schemes and counter-schemes are entertaining though.

I want to know if Light really does become a Shinigami as Kisuke says, so I will now check out the manga.

extremley awesome anime, one of my favorites…I knew light was going to die in the end, but an awesome ending…ya know, i always kinda liked matsuda, but i thought he was just a side-character who wouldnt effect the plot too much….guess i was wrong, hehe

No, Light does NOT become a shinigami. It’s even shown in this episode “All humans will, without exception, eventually die. After they die, the place they go is MU (nothingness)” And if you read the manga, Light even has a talk with Ryuk about how neither heaven or Hell exist and that ALL deaths are equal, no matter how ‘good’ or ‘evil’ the person was. And also yes to Misa committing suicide at the end. She kills herself shortly after hearing of Light’s death. Definately not a typical ending for a series. The manga’s ending was more exciting. In the anime, I almost felt bad while Light was running by and imagining himself before the Note…almost. The manga’s end was, in my opinion, much better. Light ends up begging Ryuk to kill Near and the SPK, so everyone starts shooting at Ryuk when he agrees to write a name. Of course they can’t hurk Ryuk, so Light thinks that he has won, but Ryuk turns the book around to show everyone that “Light Yagami” was the only name he wrote. I don’t remember Mikami committing suicide in the manga either…but that was actually cool. Definately one of the most engrossing manga I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. The anime was pretty good, too. Even surpassed the manga in certain exceptions. The bonus scenes not shown in the manga were nice, too.

Also to add on to what someone else said about the patterns of the names of Lawliet, Mello, and Near. Try looking at Lawliet, Aiber, and Wedy. That’s LAW. I thought that was a bit funnier than LMN.

i’ve got mixed feelings about the ending. i’m sad about what happened to Light (but i’m also happy-he got what he deserved). Misa is now alone (theres a special manga chapter called ‘How to Read’ , which does say what happens 2 her) ryuk got what he wanted-Mello’s dead (i liked mello) matsuda did something couragous, mikami (’X-kira) died in a fairly pathetic way, and mello became the new L. I’m satisfied, but i think theres still a couple things they could expand on….

I’m not sure, if i like or dislike the ending. L was my favorite character, and when he was killed, i was sad. I didn’t like Light from the first episode begin:D( well, i started to like L when they showed his face, i didn’t like him before:P).I didn’t like Near, and the other guy (whatever his name was). but i was still sad, when Light was running away. I felt empty. I thought, that i didn’t like him, put in the ending, i understand i did. i felt sad for him. Look what he had made himself! he was on top of his class, the best one! and he just made it all go pooowh! sad. and I’m sorry for his sister and mother. they are the one’s hurt the most. I really don’t care about Misa, never liked her anyway:d. I liked that Matsuda finally did something:d i liked him too:D i guess the ending was good, but i dunoo, it was sad to watch Light running, and when Light went past him, it was really sad:(

I have to say that i would of probably done the exact same thing as light if i had that power, except i wouldn’t mind not ruling the world after so i would have taken the shinigami eyes. than he would have won. and as for the ending i would of made light write his own name in the note. I still think Light was right to do what he did and i also think the line between good and evil people is very thin.

this was my second time watcing it

first time i loved Light he was my fav, but than Mello came in, but died TT.TT first time i cried at L’s death scene, but got over it…i even cried on all da other death scenes

but 2nd time i still cried, but this time i hated Raito..i still cried at his death scene though and everyone esles, but this time i did not get over L’s death for some reason….

Wow…thats all I can really say. This anbime rocked though the ending could hav e changed a bit imo. This is definetly the first anime that has ever made me have to think I know that much…had my mind going from beginning to end.

Ending=anticlimatic but i mean i thought a more intricate ending was to occur because the writers were quite good, i had expected them to do it better, or maybe i was setting my hopes to high, anyways this anime does pwn but i wish it didnt end even though it would eventually become tiresome after a while, and now im going to read the manga because that is always better and maybe L will come back in it , THAT WOULD BE SO COOOl !!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK im really disappointed about the ending. From the beginning i thought that anime is on a higher lvl but in all good books and stories the ending is unpredictable and shocking. I mean come one after previous episode it was so obvious that light will loose…he was so sure that he won…all his predictions came true blah blah blah….like White Rock commented Death Note episode 36 “I speculate that Light will be arrested. This is from a producers standpoint the most viable option. What we expect now is Light to win, so to do the opposite” how simple is that?
I think ending like lets say N after proving light is Kira (everyone is shocked blah blah blah light starts to panic blah blah blah) N say he approves Kiras doings and he is his ally from now on (in that moment other ppl start to die cuz N already wrote their names in the death note) or after N proves light is Kira he say from now one he will become new god and take Lights place and he kills everyone including Light by writing their names in death note….other good ending would be if L showed up and either catch Light or kill every one because he and Light planed this from the start hmmm what you guys think?

thats has to be one of the best and most thought out anime i’ve seen in my life, it was just so amazing how kira kept ontop of all the trap’s L and N set out for him until the very end. so sad to see light die, but at least Ryuuk killed him. gotta find another anime with so much twists in it

Wow, a truly epic series, Three thumbs up (if thats possible). This has got to be one of the best anime every created. I like how instead of the good guys just bashing the brains out of bad guys and then the bad guys bashing the brains out of the good guys, they have mostly mental combat. I also like how there’s not a truly “bad” side.

DAMN.. i really hoped light would have killed that stupid kid N and would finally rule the world as a god, i thought light was cool from beginning until bit before the end because he acted really faggy when he was caught (not that i wouldnt have done the same. i think if i was light i would whrite my own name in the book in it whriting that after ruling as a god over earth for 5 jears he would get bored and suicide or something.
and i loved L and Misa ,L was cool because how he acted and misa was just plain funny and always meddling with everyything.

it is a ending that was expected,
Light dies, Misa were an free to think w/e what happen, “N” “wins” and so on.
I like this anime, hope it comes more of this genre
