Light actually cared about his father right there. Right when he was still trying to think, the confusion was actually sarrow, he was fighting with all sides of himself and once he saw his father die happy and not with vengence, Light’s good side won the battle.
In other words. He didn’t fake it this time. Now he has a new reason to be Kira. To kill the bastard that killed his father. “Michael Keehl”
But, in order to do that, he needs to know the face and he doesn’t.

Second, to reply to D34th N0t3 L0v3r among other people, I really think he did care about his father dieing, regardless of how evil and twisted you get. Light wants criminals dead, the police are still good to him, just not teh police that are chasing him. But, at the moment, the main people who are chasing Kira are unknowingly working for Kira (Light), so Light has them under control, all he has to worry about is someone seeing him in a photo, having the death god eyes, not being particularilly fond of Kira, and being able to put two and two together, so far, thats Mello, minus the death god eyes.
However, this will be over soon, Light only has to pay a visit to Misa, and its all over.
I do actually like Light. Even though he is psycho he makes me laugh when he does something evil. Well probably he is going to die soon to. Light will die eventually in an episode and a new Kira will take over. It’s going to be a corny ending like the Ending to Blood+, man that show sucked at the end only 50 episodes to, well anyway you know light will eventually deal his own eyes and die. That will probably be the end of this series he is an adult like say around 30 when the series ands his life is shortened because he has maybe another 30 years to live and he dies.
