If Misa lived to be like 80 and then she cut her lifespan in half with the eye deal with Rem and then cut it in half again with Ryuk then she would only live until she was twenty! And she is like 17 or 18 now? At the most I think she would only have about 10 years to live unless she is one of the people who could have lived to be over 100!
Misa got the rest of the lifespan of the shinigami who saved her life and died for her. Who knows how many people he killed before that? Perhaps his lifespan was hundred of thousands of years ^^ no human would like to live that long

Though I dun approve of Light’s perverse way of thinking (as much as he wants to rid the world of ‘crimes’, innocent people such as Ray’s fiancee were implicated), w/o him, the story wouldnt have been exciting! Same goes for the existence of Misa and her stubborn facination for Light.
And due to Misa’s loyalty and faithfulness to Light, she tries to abstain from any intimate contact with other guys. Hence Ryuk’s reminder to her that he is a male. This was also demonstrated some episode before when she was filming. She was required to do a kissing scene with an extremely handsome male actor but Misa downright reject the director.
